| Initiative Musik: Government support in 2013. As you might have read on our Facebook/Cyminology, we have received a financial support package for special projects in 2012. Berlin based Initiative Musik organizes this programme. Within the next months, we will use this support to produce new video and photo material, relaunch our website and create much more, all related to our new album to be recorded soon. The funding comes from resources of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. Very soon you will certainly hear and see results from this cooperation. We are looking forward to your feedback! |

| Creole Award Tour 2012. As we promised last time, we have been working on a wonderful tour that we happily present you today. In 2011, we received the creole world music award. Three of the organizations involved in this competition – Werkstatt der Kulturen, Trägerkreis creole and Initiative Musik – provide us the opportunity to have a supported award tour. This will also be a celebration of 10 years of Cyminology. During the second half of the tour, special guest Martin Stegner (viola, Berlin Philharmonic) will join us. After some really nice concerts in november in Kassel, Bremen and Kiel we were very happy to have a live radio broadcast from the incredible Dr-Oetker-Hall in Bielefeld in december. | Back from Venezuela. We just returned from our wonderful trip to Caracas. We were able to see and experience some amazing four days there with two TV appearances including an unexpected dance performance, interviews and a concert with great response from an enthusiastic audience. | 17.06.11 |

| CYMINOLOGY/THEO BLECKMANN AND BEN MONDER (Thursday) Cyminology is a chamberlike ensemble led by Cymin Samawatie, a German vocalist of Iranian descent. On a reflective new album, “As Ney” (ECM), the group explores jazzlike sonic terrain, but with Ms. Samawatie singing poetic texts in Persian. This album-release performance will include an opening set by Mr. Bleckmann, a vocalist, and Mr. Monder, a guitarist, who have released their own hauntingly ethereal albums together, most recently “At Night” (Songlines). 5th. We are going to play five concert and today we got the amazing
news that the Goethe Institute and the German department of foreign

 We just came back from
our tour in the Kaukasus region and Turkey. It’s been a lot
of fun and very interesting to travel to Armenia, Georgia, Aserbaidjan
and Turkey and to play concerts there. For instants in Tiflis we played
in front of 500 people in an old theater that got burned only two years
ago from inside. They never restored it, so the walls were still all
black – amazing athmosphere. |

| The record-release concert in Berlin is going to be on th 22nd of January 2009 in the “Werkstatt der Kulturen” concert-space. There will be a TV-team from Londons BBC. They are going to do some interviews and record the concert for their program. | 06.11.08 |
